Windows 10: Monitor not working after windows 11 update

My monitor was working perfectly, I logged in and was prompted immediately to "Restart" the computer.Now my monitor is no longer recognized. I have tried to "detect" it, but no luck. I have double checked for updates, but there is nothing. My monitor had been showing recently, "Input Signal Not found HDMI1 Check the video cable and video source" when I locked the screen at night, yet the monitor was working perfectly before locking. I have even tried changing from HDMI1 to HDMI2 to see if that would trick it to be detected. But still no luck.Any suggestions?

Windows 10 KB3213986 Update Cripples Multi-monitor Gaming

The recent Cumulative Update for Windows 10 (KB3213986) cripples multi-monitor gaming, looking at the way Microsoft worded its "known issues" text. After the update is applied, users with multi-monitor setups could experience screen stuttering or clipped screens when running 3D apps on machines with more than one monitor. The only workaround Microsoft suggests for now entails running your 3D apps in non-fullscreen modes, such as windowed-maximized (pseudo-fullscreen) or windowed modes. Microsoft also goes as far as to suggest that people with multi-monitors could try starting their 3D apps with just one monitor connected.

"Users may experience delayed or clipped screens while running 3D rendering apps (such as games) on systems with more than one monitor," the change-log for the KB3213986 update reads. "To work around this issue please consider the following options: 1. Running the application in Windows mode (not full screen), or 2. Starting the application with only one monitor connected," it adds. The update effectively cripples multi-monitor gaming, using technologies such as AMD Eyefinity or NVIDIA 3D Vision Surround.

Updating to Windows 11 broke my external monitor

I gave you a series of links in Step 1 for the known issue of Windows not recognizing second monitor after Windows 11 upgrade, asking you to report back the results of each step in each link. I see no results posted except for the additional steps I gave in Step 2 for all things to be tried with the Display driver.

Please go back and perform all steps that are working for others with this known issue, and report back the results for each so I know what else to suggest. I am standing by here to help.

• Are both of the monitors not working just like what the original poster was experiencing? If yes, have you tried disconnecting one of the monitors? What was the outcome?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
