Windows 10: Monitor not working

Hello, I am using a laptop and would like a second monitor. So I got one of my old ACER monitors. This monitor does not support HDMI cables but only VGA. My laptop however, does not have a VGA input. That is why I got a seperate VGA to HDMI transform cable as you can see in the picture. Now the problem is that when I connect the monitor to my laptop, it only shows as an audio device. On the monitor itself it says: 'Input not supported'. Is there any way to get my monitor to work?

Windows 10 Update - Now my dual monitors do not work

• Which Windows 10 build are you using?
• Have you already tried performing the troubleshooting steps suggested by
  Mauro Cavallin on June 16, 2017?
• Are both of the monitors not working just like what the original poster was experiencing? If yes, have you tried disconnecting one of the monitors? What was the outcome?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Trouble with 2 monitors

I suggest you to change the settings to Extended Monitor and check if it helps.

Please follow below steps:

• Right Click any ware of the Desktop, and launch Personalization.
• Go to dual monitor settings under personalization, and change it Extended Monitor.
