Monitor Switches to 30Hz when games are opened in full screen

I am currently using a Asus Tuf Gaming fx504GD laptop with an i5 8th gen and gtx 1050 graphics with 16 gb memory. when ever i try to use my acer 165hz monitor with the laptop it works fine untill i open any games in full screen. for some reason the refresh rate switches to 30hz. ive tried almost everything, nothing worked for me. Everything is upto date, even reinstalled the drivers multiple time

  2. Monitor Switches to 30Hz when Applications open in full screen.

I have searched online for solutions for this, and none have worked...

Here's the issue: If I open an application, say Fortnite or PUBG, my monitor decides to switch my it's hertz to 30 or something around that number. It is important to note that my display adapter settings say my monitor is running at 60Hz when it really
    isn't.

(Something to note is that I have a laptop)

I updated my graphics card drivers, and my monitor drivers and that didn't fix it. I even switched HDMI cables and still nothing.

At this point I thought I had to ask the internet myself and hopefully I can get a solution from the community.

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Monitor Switches to 30Hz when Applications open in full screen.

If you right click your desktop and click "NVIDIA Control Panel", it will open up the NVIDIA Control Panel. From there you can click on "Change resolution" under Display on the left and select 60Hz if it's not already selected.

In the Windows Control Panel you can change your refresh rate by:

    1. Right clicking your desktop again

    2. Making sure your main display is selected.

    3. Click "Display Adapter Properties"

    4. Under the monitor tab for your display, make sure that the Screen refresh rate is set to 60Hz.

Let me know if you're still having issues in game. You can't really do much about a bad monitor refresh rate, since that's all on the physical monitor and less in the Windows software.

    Hope this helps!
