Windows 10: MONITOR TO COMPUTER LEAD

G'day Friends,This is the 83 year old man born far too early. You people have helped me so many times with great success Thank you. Yesterday my Monitor died. Fortunately, I had a spare monitor. I have a problem. When I tried to connect the monitor to the desktop, the plug would not fit. I need a lead from the monitor with a female end, mine is a male. Because I am old and a very long way from town, I purchase things online. Please could somebody tell me the name of what I would need to connect the monitor to the desktop. A lead or maybe an adapter. I would appreciate your help. Cheers Perr

'Generic PnP monitor' issue

Hello Angelica,

I would suggest you follow steps to update the monitor driver:

Press Windows + X keys

Choose Device manager

Click on Monitors

Right click on ‘Generic PnP monitor’ and click on update driver

Tap on Browse my computer for driver software

Tap on Let me pick from a list of available drivers

Choose ‘Generic PnP monitor’ and tap on Next

When you are done please restart the computer.

 

Trouble with 2 monitors

I suggest you to change the settings to Extended Monitor and check if it helps.

Please follow below steps:

• Right Click any ware of the Desktop, and launch Personalization.
• Go to dual monitor settings under personalization, and change it Extended Monitor.
