  1. Monitors wake time breaking display order

I have three displays - the primary is a different model to the others and happens to take a couple of seconds longer to wake, so when Windows wakes from sleep it things the primary has been disconnected, makes the second monitor the primary, then switches it all back when the primary comes online a few seconds later.

This screws up all my window locations - Windows leaves windows on the secondary displays, all windows are moved a few pixels, etc., just generally quite inconvenient.

I've done a whole load of Googling for a solution, wondering if I can I force Windows to wait a little longer, disable display detection, whatever, but can't find anything that works.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

How can I drag a screen display onto an adjoining satellite monitor?

    Hi Stewart,

In order for us to assist you dragging a screen to your satellite monitor, you can follow these steps:

    • Move the cursor off each of the four screen edges to see if one of them works.
    • If it does, position the monitors in the Display > Screen Resolution window
to match the physical placement of the monitors.
In the event that the previous steps failed to work, you can try these:

    • In the display settings just swap the
      Display1 and Display2 Monitors.
    • Drag the Monitor1 display icon and
drop it on Monitor2 display icon, this would give you the correct alignment of screens.

Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have further inquiries.

Monitors wake time breaking display order

Laptop display does not detect itself

    Hi,

I only have 1 computer (the laptop) and 1 external monitor. The laptop cannot detect its own screen.

So when I follow your steps, this is what happens:

    • Go to Settings. (Done)
    • Click on System. (Done)
    • Under System, choose Display. (Done)
    • Under Multiple displays, click on Duplicate these displays and apply. (Done)
    • But then I undock my laptop and redock. Re-login, etc.
    • Only the external display turns on. The laptop does not turn on its own display. In order to get the laptop display to wake up, I need to follow steps 1-4 again. The settign "Duplicate these displays" does not seem to be retained.
