  1. More power options for when PC is closed or sleeping?

When I close my PC, it goes to sleep, but doesn't shut down, I like it this way.

When my PC is sleeping, you can turn it on just by moving the mouse, I don't usually mind this.

Problem is, both can happen at the same time.

Recently I've had the wonderful experience of quickly packing up my PC, and, while I'm on the street, accidentally jostling and clicking the computer mouse in my backpack. Suddenly I'm walking around, headphones in, completely unaware that blasting IASIP for my entire town to hear!

SO, is there an app, or an advanced option I haven't noticed, that can do one (or more!) of the following:

    1. Make it so that if the PC is both not plugged in and closed, it shuts down after a minute (but only when both are true!).
    2. Make it so that mouse input doesn't wake the PC.
    3. Mute the PC when it is closed.

If necessary, I'm not entirely uncomfortable with working on the command line, I'd actually much prefer it to 3rd party software, but I'm pretty inexperienced, so I'd need some pointers.

  2. sleep mode and power options not working on Windows 10

    Hi,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Forums.

For issues with sleep mode and power options follow the steps provided below.

Run the Power troubleshooter and check.

Follow the steps to run the troubleshooter:

    • Open Control Panel.
    • Type Troubleshooting in search and click
      Troubleshooting.
    • Now type Power in the search option.
    • Click on Power troubleshooter to run.

I would suggest you to try updating the Display driver and check if the issue persists. If you already have all the latest drivers from Windows updates, then I would suggest you to visit the computer manufacturer's website, download and install the latest
drivers in compatibility mode and check.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Sleep

    Hi,

This may happen due to its power plan. A power plan is a collection of hardware and system settings that manages how computers use and conserve power. For this, we suggest that you reset and restore power plans to its default. kindly follow these steps:

    • Open the Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Copy and paste the command below into the command prompt, and press
      Enter
      :
      • powercfg -restoredefaultschemes
    • Close the Command Prompt window, and then restart your PC to apply the changes.

After that, go to Power & sleep settings
by typing it into the Windows Search. Check the When plugged in, PC goes to sleep after
    settings is set to Never.

Let us know if the steps above helped you to resolve the issue.

More power options for when PC is closed or sleeping?

    Sleep option

    Hi John,

The issue might be due to a disabled sleep to show in Power menu
    option in Control Panel.

We would like to ask for some information:

    • Did you get any error messages?
    • Can you provide us with a screenshot?

In the meantime, please check if the sleep to show in Power menu
option in Control Panel is enabled using the steps below:

    • Type Control Panel on the search box and press Enter.
    • Select System and Security, then Power Options.
    • Click on Choose what the power buttons do.
    • Put a check-mark on the Sleep-Show in Power menu box.

We will wait for your response.
