Windows 10: MORE Problems with 22H2

I’m having multiple problems installing Windows 11 22H2 – is there any way to identify clearly what is causing the problem? Should I be worried it won’t install, or relieved? For at least 6 months now I have been getting regular notifications that Windows 11 22H2 is available for installation, but the installation failing some way into the process. So far I’ve had no problems installing other updates, just this one. I am very reluctant to do a clean install, because I have a large number of apps, many with substantial personal configurations. If you can't install it from windows update you can try to install it manually, it's the same KB5015684 obtained with windows update.

Do dism and sfc /scannow commands before and/or after installing it.

I wish things are that simple. My error code was 0x80246017, and I don't have KB5020435 installed so it's a dead end. BTW, MS lists like 6 or 7 error codes of the format 0x8024xxxx on the "troubleshooting WU problems", and when you chose next step, it suggests generic steps: run WU troubleshooter, check if your disk has no errors, is your remote disk is accessible, etc. Same as MS community; each similar error has completely different cause and (re)solution.
MS in notorious for this- if it works then OK, if it doesn't then good luck.

 

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.
