    Another Windows 10 Browser issue

It must be lonely. It seems there are more than 25 million that don't agree. Just joking, but:

"Windows 10 was officially launched on July 29 and it's rapidly growing in market share data, with new figures revealing that it has already surpassed Windows 8 and is now going after OS X and Windows XP.

Basically, Windows 10 debuted already with a small market share thanks to the Windows Insider program, but since its official launch, the new Microsoft operating system's score has skyrocketed as more users previously running Windows
7 or 8.1 have upgraded their computers.

Right now, Windows 10 is at 3.55 percent, which makes it the fifth most used operating system across the world, according to StatCounter data. Windows 7 continues to be the leader with 53.8 percent, followed by Windows 8.1 with 14.93
percent, and Windows XP with 10.09 percent."

  3. Creators Update is not showing on Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant

Note: version 1.4.9200.17384 provides access to the
Windows 10 Creators Update ahead of launch. It downloads the RTM build so it should be safe to install but users are advised against installing it on production or mission-critical machines.

I don't even have to look at the link to know that this must be a softpedia article... AMIRITE? AMIRITE?

There have been numerous articles from more legitimate sources talking about how the OS usage statistics of major analytics sites are messed up over the least few months. You'd think these guys as "journalists" would do some fact checking.

PLEASE STOP LINKING TO SOFTPEDIA ARTICLES! They are horrible, typically factually incorrect, and often times plain and outright stupid.

    Hi there

I suppose the same source will say LINUX runs on more IN HOUSE Ms machines than its own Windows.

Well the last time I was in the USA I was reading a "Paper" (like the National Enquirer !!!!) which said that around 35% of the US population believed that they had been "abducted by Aliens".

I'd just ignore any of those total rubbish articles.

    Cheers

Proably users who are to stuborn how to use a new os or people that don't know any better and just buy another computer when it dies out with what ever os it has and their pc simply hasn't died out yet. Honestly people should be running at least windows 7 or some linux distribution in this modern day age. No excuses really expect for maybe some legacy hardware possibly not working.

  10. I don't believe that the figures are related to a real massive increase in XP installs (>5% since November).

I suspect that they have decided to re-include the XP data that they dropped in October & November.
They just haven't bothered to tell anyone ( just like when they dropped the XP data).

The long term trend seems reasonable (i.e. a slight decline in XP and a slight increase in W8.1).

This is from Neowin, I have found most of their articles, fairly accurate and non-biased.

It seems completely reasonable to me, that some people have software which will run on XP, so they use it, or they don't care about upgrading. Also even if Windows 10 is free for 7 and 8 users, there is no incentive to shift Vista or XP users to use it.

I don't understand the indignation about the article, I liked XP (still do), it took me 3 years to switch over to Windows 7.

  12. If I hadn't foolishly bought a 3 TB HDD, I'd still be triple booting XP, W7 & LM17.

  15. It strange how some people prefer to use the top two versions of Windows (XP & W7) rather than any of the other versions.
