    Most effective free privacy tool


    Just wondering what others are using to tackle the privacy issues in Windows 10; snooping, telemetry etc.

    Spybot's Anti-Beacon, O&O's Shut Up10, something else or a combination?

    Would like to lock it down as much as possible.

    Hi Sarah. I'm Greg, a volunteer installation specialist and 8 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

    CCleaner would be best IMO, but it's not really necessary because Windows 10 has Disk Cleanup you can run to include System Files and it works fine:

    For years CCleaner was flawless and very useful in earlier versions of WIndows that didn't have the automated maintenance that Windows 10 does. However last year CCleaner caused enough serious problems I'm not recommending it any longer in my install tutorials
    which have had millions of users since early Windows 7.

    You can see the automated Maintenance in Windows 10 by typing Maintenance in Start Search, opening Security & Maintenance to check the settings.

    You can automate Disk Cleanup as well by following this guide:

    Otherwise just run it whenever you want to clean things up.

    Disconnect your PC from the internet. Doesn't matter what anti privacy software you use, Microsoft can enable them back. Many people and include myself have nothing to hide because what can they spy on us? Some of you guys need to overcome this privacy issue really, because it does make me laugh a lot when you guys going like this " Oh my gosh! Microsoft is spying on us. They are violating our privacy term and its going to steal our data and sell it to the government."
