Windows 10: Most taskbar icons show up on monitor 2 after buying a new monitor

Most taskbar icons show up on monitor 2 after buying a new monitor. I can't figure out how to change that. Monitor 1 is bigger and in front of me so I want to use that as my primary monitor. I tried googling it and I've tried a few things, but they didn't work. How do I switch all the icons on the taskbar on my second monitor to show up on my first monitor instead? I have a Samsung monitor at my primary and a Dell monitor as my secondary.

I suggest you to follow the steps below to auto-hide taskbar on second monitor and check if it helps:

Steps:

1. Right click on the taskbar and select
Properties.

2. In the Taskbar tab under
Multiple displays, Uncheck the Show taskbar on all displays box.

3. Click on Apply
and Ok.

This will display the taskbar only on the primary monitor.

Show Taskbar on only 2 of 3 monitors? Win10

I am running windows 10 and I am trying to get the taskbar to only show on 2 of my 3 monitors. However I only see the option to enable it on all monitors. Is there a way to enable taskbar on multiple monitors and then disable it on a specific monitor?

Taskbar on second monitor

Hi all,

I've got a Surface 4 Pro and am having an issue where the taskbar is showing on the secondary monitor. My external monitor is designated as the 'main display' and is to the left of the Surface. The desktop is extended onto the external monitor.

It's easy enough to drag the taskbar over but I can't get it to stay.

Thinks I've tried(that didn't work):

• Lock the taskbar.
• Turn off the 'Show taskbar on all displays' option
• 'Auto hide' option has no effect.
• Setting the Surface display as the primary, rebooting, setting the external monitor as primary

Any ideas?
