  3. What's happened about install the capacity ram more than maximum capacity ram that CPU support?

Hi everyone who read this post, I have a question about install more capacity ram. My system operate like this: i5-5200U, Ram: 4gb DDR3L 1600, 120gb SSD 2.5inch. I am going to upgrade from 4gb to 24gb Ram but I have seen in intel website that my CPU just support maximum 16gb so what's happened if I upgraded to 24gb Ram? Thank you so much.

    Hi skyherobrine,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

That processor can only address a maximum of 16GB of RAM, if you install more as CatteryDeveloper indicates your PC may not boot up, but even if it does successfully boot up, it will only use 16GB of the 24GB of RAM, it will never use the full 24GB so there is no point in installing that amount of RAM
