Hey guys, after a power cut in my room for some reason it fried my motherboard, I'm pretty broke at the moment and only have £50 to spend, at the moment I:
    i5 CPU
    750ti GPU
    16GB RAM (2x 8GB)

    Thank you.

    :)

  2. Closing a window takes me back to the Start screen in Windows 10

I have the exact same issue. Pretty much am using the workaround of not actually opening emails--just using reading pane. However, I do not like this and having to reload outlook after every email I deal with is not productive. Waiting for a solution...

  3. PC wakes up every 8th minute of every hour when Wake on LAN is enabled. How do I stop it without disabling Wake on LAN?

These things happen because the motherboard that your using is not supported. While some features of Wake on LAN may work, as long as the motherboard doesn't support it, it won't work as expected. We suggest that you upgrade to a motherboard that fully supports
    this feature.

Please don't hesitate to post back if you need further help.

Assuming that the I5 3450 in "partians" system specs is the one, a Socket 1155 motherboard is needed. Not 1151.

I buy most of my stuff through Newegg, who also does business in the UK.

Assuming that you want another H61 microATX board, here's what they have:

Intel H61, Micro ATX, Intel Motherboards, Motherboards, Components - Newegg.com

I might not go for the cheapest (Biostar), but I've been happy with my current Asrock board.

I hope that the CPU, RAM, and graphics card survived whatever took out the mainboard. I'd also worry about the power supply.

As bobkn mentioned, you should probably verify the rest of your components are still good. It would be a shame to buy a new motherboard if it was the PSU that was shot, etc...

Well everytime I want to boot up my PC it cycles through on and off until I take the CMOS out and battle with it for 10 minutes.

    "take the CMOS out"??

What do you mean? Do you clear the CMOS (also known as the RTC, real time clock), or physically remove the BIOS EEPROM?

Perhaps I took "fried" too literally. Let's back up: can you boot into the BIOS settings? If so, can you reset them to defaults (or optimized defaults)?

I'm not sure if it's called the CMOS, it's a medium sized circular battery that I have to keep removing for it to have any chance for it to boot.

I can get into the BIOS only if I hear a beep (when it beeps it's like a normal boot where windows will load or BIOS will load up, that beep makes me know that it will boot into Windows)

That's the CMOS backup battery. If you remove it, you reset the BIOS to its default settings.

The normal way to clear the CMOS is with a jumper. (On some newer boards, there's a pushbutton.) Pulling the battery works too, but you have to be sure not to damage the battery holder. (Some mainboards are fragile there, others not.)

I wonder whether there is anything wrong with the motherboard. It sound like there's a hardware problem, but I don't have much experience diagnosing that. Check the RAM? Try a different graphics card (or use the onboard graphics, if one of your monitors supports VGA)?

    Best of luck.

Could you elaborate a little more? What exactly does it do with the battery in and without it in? Why do you say you have to keep removing it for it to have a chance to boot?
