  1. Motherboard upgrade to custom built gaming PC

Hey,I'm upgrading my CPU and motherboard and I wanted to get info on what to expect for the first time boot.My Windows version is Win10 for Education, received for free from OnTheHub.com. I built this PC in December of 2018 and had no major issues. My current specs are: CPU: i3-8100 8th gen. GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. Board: MSI Z370 PC PRO. RAM: 16GB DDR4. SSD: Crucial MX500 500GB. Upgrades will be: CPU: i5-10600KF 10th gen. Board: Gigabyte Z490 UDWill I need to reactivate my Windows license or do anything to boot my computer just as it is now?

    :)

Upgrading motherboard on a Pre-Built PC

I am about to upgrade my motherboard on a Pre-Built PC that has had Windows 10 installed on it ever since I bought it. Will there be any issues with that since the PC came with a Windows 10 disc and product key on the side of the case. I have heard of
people having to buy new product keys and I was hoping I could avoid that.

The 9th gen processors that are currently available is still the P0 stepping and will eventually be replaced with the new R0 stepping processors.

Here are the screenshots I took from Gigabyte's website

Gigabyte redacted the new R0 processors from the list a day later.

    Windows 10 and upgrading motherboard

    Hi,

Thank you for bringing up your query on Microsoft Community.

The only hardware changes that can negatively impact activation status once you upgrade to free version are the changes to the:

    • CPU
    • TPM
    • Motherboard replacement
The following changes are examples of hardware changes that will NOT impact the activation status:

    • HDD/SSD
    • Video card
    • Adding extra memory
Let us follow the steps suggested by Andre Da Costa (replied
