Windows 10: Mouse and/key board hanging up/freezing on Win 10, using 1909 with all cumulative Updates...

While it froze once before, it has now been consistent in that after a while the keyboard goes dead. The mouse seems bit better for now.

Battery perfectly good, not an overheating issue; clearly a 10 Issue as pointed out on various sources.


What are you guys doing to fix this. You have to gt back to everyone?? Any links to fix this or a new UPdate??!!

Method 1:



Check if Shell Hardware Detection service is running properly or not.

1. 
   Press Windows key + R. This will openRun. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for Run.
   
   
2. 
   In Run dialog box, type services.msc and hit enter.
   
   
3. 
   Now look for the service Shell Hardware Detection.
   
   
4. 
   Right click on the service and click onProperties.
   
   
5. 
   Now under startup type select Automatic Delayed Start.
   
   
6. 
   Click on Stop and thenStart the service.
   
   
7. 
   Click on OK.
   

If the above method does not work, please follow the next method.



Method 2:



Ensure all the AutoPlay settings are configured correctly. Follow the steps to configure AutoPlay settings.

1. 
   Press Windows key + R. This will openRun. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for Run.
   
   
2. 
   In Run dialog box, type control and hit enter.
   
   
3. 
   Now on the top right corner click onView Large Icons.
   
   
4. 
   Look for AutoPlay and open it.
   
   
5. 
   Select the check box Use AutoPlay for all media and devices underChoose what happens when you insert each type of media or device.
   
   
6. 
   Now under Removable drive select the optionAsk me every time from the drop down.
   
   
7. 
   Click on Save.

Windows 10 update hangs on downloading updates at 98%

Hi vinodh,

In step 3 you state to press enter after after each command but its written like one sentence,could you list them so we can identify each command please.my pc just hangs on "checking for updates" so i installed the win 10 updater and that just hangs on 99%
so i will try what you suggest above.

Windows 10 fully updated. Mouse freezes now and then.

Windows 10 random hangs (can only move mouse)+ freezes, related to SSD

Update:
I was continuinuing to have constant hangs/freezes yesterday:

• I was having random hangs as described above while doing simple things as copying files,
  or taking a screenshot with win key+PrtScn and then trying to open that just taken screenshot: the system would hang before the screenshot file icon was changed to a thumbnail,
  i.e. the system hang while the new screenshot file was still having the general pictures icon by windows.
• the system froze three times while I was playing Call of Duty Infinite Warfare.
• the very last froze happened while I had booted the system with a USB stick and had started the procedure of clean-installing windows (10 build 10586) :
  the system froze during the stage while it was "Getting files ready for installation (14%)"!! (generic screenshot)

After every hang/freeze, there was no relevant entry in Event Viewer.
Also S.M.A.R.T report was also ok all the time, with no error values whatsoever.


So, I decided to remove my m.2. SSD.
I kept only my wd HD on which i clean-installed Win 10 build 10586:
after that, absolutely no more hangs/freezes anymore (including during the windows installation procedure)

Therefore the problem is definitely related to the SSD.




SO my question is this:

• do you think it's the m.2. SSD to blame? (unfortunately, I don't have anyone to give my m.2 SSD to test it in his system and find if it's faulty on his system too)
  Has it happened to you too, a SSD to be faulty with such symptoms?
• or it's the motherboard's electronic section which provides m.2 support that is the faulty one?
