Windows 10: Mouse and Keyboard Center won't install to use compatible mouse without a compatible keyboard

I just bought a Microsoft Bluetooth Ergonomic Mouse to be able to customize the side buttons and running Windows 11 Pro.The mouse was connected before downloading the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center but it won't install and says a compatible keyboard is required. There is no mention anywhere that both a compatible mouse and keyboard are required anywhere in Microsoft support or on any of the product pages, and definitely not mentioned when I bought it. I found a few articles talking about using just for the mouse only but I can't find anything to explicitly say if both are required or no

Mouse and Keyboard Center Mouse

I have a Microsoft Keyboard and use the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard center to program the buttons. I also have a Microsoft Mouse that is not compatible with the Mouse and Keyboard center. The scrolling is incredibly sensitive and scrolls way too fast now
and it appears it is because of the center. Is there a way to get my mouse set correctly without uninstalling the center because I would really like it for my keyboard.

No, how do I manually install the drivers? The link you provided does not give me any drivers, it only includes the Mouse and Keyboard Center. If you can tell me where to find the driver installer, I'll happily try the Compatibility mode, but I don't know
where these are.

As, Wireless laser mouse 6000 is not compatible with Windows 10.

This mouse is definitely compatible with Windows 10, as the mouse works fine. The problem is not that the mouse doesn't work, but that it doesn't appear in the Mouse and Keyboard Center.

I also, suggest you to connect wired mouse and check is the issue persists.

How would this help? The issue has nothing to do with a wired or wireless mouse, the issue is with this SPECIFIC mouse not showing up in MKC. Plugging in another mouse would not help me solve the problem with the current mouse.

 

MS Mouse and Keyboard Center not working with Windows 10

Since updating to Windows 10 the MS Mouse & Keyboard Center doesn't show my Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 anymore and therefore I can't customize my Mouse settings. I know my Keyboard (MS Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000) and my Mouse are both on the
compatibility list for the MS Mouse & Keyboard Center and they did work perfect in Windows 7. Is the MS Mouse and Keyboard Center compatible with Windows 10?
