Windows 10: Mouse and Keyboard Freeze and Stop working a few seconds after Windows 10 Loads

Hello,


My computer worked perfectly fine just the other day, but today when I turned my computer on as soon as I get to the desktop, my mouse works for a few seconds and then it just freezes and no longer works or shows movement. My keyboard does not work as well and USB flash drives do not appear ot load as well once the desktop loads.


I've gone into my BIOS settings and my keyboard does work in there. I've also rebooted my computer in Safe Mode and here my mouse and keyboard work normally so I do not suspect a hardware issue.


As soon as I boot my computer normally though my mouse freezes after about 5 or so seconds.


Can someone please help with this, this is super frustrating. I've watched lots of youtube videos/looks at settings to possibly adjust, but can seem to find a solution to this issue.

Wired Keyboard and Mouse Stop Working - Windows 10
I have an old Dell Studio that is running windows 10 ---

Ir has Windows 10 and SSD installed - to me it does what it needs to do but this darn mouse and keyboard stuff stopping working with no rhyme or reason is making me very frustrated.

Keyboard and Mouse are wired - NOT WIRELESS

• I cannot easily unplug and plug in the mouse/keyboard to get it going again... they are still lit up but they are dead basically and I have to do a hard reset.
  
• USB selective suspend is disabled.
• I checked the drivers for the keyboard and mouse and they are updated.
• I checked to see if PC has KB4074588 and it does not.

I am not sure what else to do.... I can go days without the issue and then days where anytime I step away from the PC it stops working.

I can say when it is working it just does not just stop ... only when I walk away and the machine is idle or the screen is locked.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Mouse and keyboard don't work on Windows install

Its a new build i was trying to install my windows os

Thanks for your help my PS keyboard is working unfortunately my usb mouse/keyboard still do not work even after having my OS installed. How would i go about selecting to load the driver packages?
