Windows 10: Mouse clicks not working consistently.

Usually I can click with my wired mouse and it'll work fine, but if i hold down either the left or right mouse button it will stutter and stop clicking for a second. Sometimes my regular clicks also do not register. Things I have tried:Using another mouse did the same thingUsing all other USB portsRestarting PCUpdating mouse driversDisabling and re-enabling usb controllersAdjusting mouse settingsI will add that this happened before, a year or two ago, and the problem fixed itself after a few weeks.

mouse is not working right


unfortunately there isn't a lot to a usb mouse. what i would suggest is checking the power management settings on it.

Right-click the start menu and choose device manager
Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers at the very bottom
Double-click on each HUB you have listed, click Power Management Tab at the top, and UNCHECK "Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power"
You may have HUBs called Generic and Root Hub. Perform the step above on All of them.

If you continue to have the issue, i would imagine your mouse is malfunctioning. Perhaps try another mouse just to be sure. This will help you determine if it is in fact the mouse of computer causing the issue.

• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.

Why are videos now opening with a single mouse click?

1. Press the Windows key, type mouse settings, and press Enter.
2. In the Settings window, under Related settings, click the Additional mouse options link.
3. In the Mouse Properties window, click the Buttons tab, if not already selected.
4. On the Buttons tab, adjust the slider for the Double-click speed option, then press OK.
