    I have HP laptop and I am trying to connect Mouse in laptop with wire but it is not connecting in my laptop . and showing this type of error..... " USB device not recognized , This last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned , and Windows does not recognize it.

    One possible reason why you're having issues with connecting your Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse to your laptop is, can be due to configuration settings. To better assist you, kindly answer the following questions:

    • Have you made any recent changes before this issue occur?
    • Did you get any error messages when you tried to connect it to your laptop?
    • Have you tried connecting your Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse to another device?

    How to remove "HP Connected Remote" as a sign in account ?

    • Is your computer connected to a domain network?
    HP Connected Remote is an app that comes preinstalled on select Windows HP computers. I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it resolves this issue.

    • On the Windows 10 Start screen, type hp connected remote.
    • Click HP Connected Remote from the Apps search results.
    • Click Settings, and make sure Enable HP Connected Remote is turned On.

    How to install HP Mouse that came from desktop to laptop

    Hi Steve,

    Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

    I would suggest you try the following steps and check if it helps.

    Method 1: Check whether the receiver is connected to the laptop and connection.

    1. Open the cover from the back of your wireless mouse.

    2. Remove the receiver from the mouse (also check if the receiver is plugged in to the CPU if you cannot find it in the mouse) and plug it to the laptop.

    3. Now check if your wireless mouse is recognized.

    Method 2: Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter.

    Please follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + X and click on
      Control Panel.
    • Change View by from Category
      to Small Icons.
    • Now click on Troubleshooting.
    • On the left side of the Troubleshooting window, click on “View all”.
    • Click on Hardware and Devices. Please provide a password if asked for it and click
      ok.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions.
