  1. Mouse curser going crazy

My curser keeps jumping to corners and trying to click things, it doesn't do it if I have an app open like a game. But I've tried every "fix" and it hasn't helped at all. Could it be due to my drawing tablet monitor? Maybe but when using my stylist it doesn't act up but it is incredibly hard to control on mouse and even acts up when the mouse is disconnected. I've tried reseting the drivers and, I have the enhanced precision turned off.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 erratic curser

My curser has just started to become erratic. I use a Logitech wireless mouse or the touchpad on a Dell laptop. From time to time the curser will have a mind of its own and bounce around the display by itself and flash very quickly. Neither the mouse nor
the touchpad will regain control of it and I have to force a shut down of the computer. I'm running Windows 10 with the latest update as of December 2019. Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.

    MY MOUSE CURSER

    Hi,

There maybe a couple of reasons behind this misbehavior. Your settings may have been changed unknowingly, or it may have been tweaked into an old version of Windows for compatibility.

Basing on your post, there's also a possibility of your account not being an administrator account. We would like to clarify that. Please follow the steps provided in this article:
Create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10, to see if you're
account is an administrator. If not please have it changed or create a new one by following the steps on that link.

Regarding your mouse cursor, please follow these steps to have it changed.

    • Go to Start, then click Settings button right above
      Shutdown.
    • Then select Devices.
    • On the left pane, select Mouse & touchpad.
    • Under Related Settings, click Additional
      mouse options
    • A new dialog box should appear, navigate to Pointers tab.
    • Under Scheme is a drop-down menu. Click it and then choose
      Windows
      Default (system
      scheme).
    • Select Normal under Customize.

Hope this helps. If you have any other concerns, please don't hesitate to come back to us.

    Curser lost control

    Hello,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community, we appreciate your interest in Windows 10.

I understand the inconvenience with accessing the device after installing Windows 10.

I would like to inform that, these issues are due to un-updated drivers on Windows 10.

I suggest you to follow the below troubleshooting steps by connecting an external mouse and check if it works fine.

If the external mouse is working fine then follow the below:

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

    • Press Windows + X keys from the keyboard and click on
      Control Panel.

    • Click on Mouse.

    • On the Device Settings tab of the
Mouse Properties screen, click the Disable button to turn off the Touchpad.

    • Restart the system and after restart enable it.

    Step 2: Uninstall Mouse driver.

    • Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
    • Select Device Manager.
    • Expand Mouse.
    • Right on the Mouse driver and click on
      Uninstall.

    Step 3: Update the driver.

    • Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
    • Select Device Manager.
    • Expand Mouse.
    • Right on the Mouse driver
and click on Update driver software

Also, try to search for the drivers from Manufacturer's website and install them in the compatibility mode.

You can install Windows 8/8.1 drivers in compatibility mode if there are no Windows 10 compatible drivers.

Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

    • Download the updated driver from the manufacturer’s website.
    • Right click the driver installation file and select
Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
    • Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
    • Tap the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click
      OK.
    • Try installing the driver and check.

Method 2: I suggest you to disable automatic restart on system failure. This prevents Windows from automatically restarting if an error causes Windows to fail. Follow the below steps.

    • Press Windows + E keys on the keyboard to open File Explorer.

    • Right click on My Computer/This PC and Select
      Properties.

    • Click on Advanced system settings on the left navigation pane. (Enter the admin credentials if prompted)

    • Click on the Advanced tab.

    • Under the Startup and Recovery, select
      Settings.

    • Uncheck the option Automatic Restart under
      System failure.

    • Click on OK button and close the window.
Try to use the computer now for some time. Check if the computer is restarting now.

Hope it helps. Kindly update the status of the issue, we will be happy to help you.
