  1. Mouse cursor does not move past one of my two extended displays

I am extending my Asus laptop's display to an external monitor via HDMI. Since yesterday I started experiencing a problem where my mouse cursor is not moving into the other display every time. This is occurring when using the track pad or a mouse connected via USB.When trying to move the cursor to the other screen I observed the following behaviors:I see the cursor graphic that Windows displays when it reaches the edge of a screen and it overlaps a bit onto the other screen. At times I am able to "force" the cursor onto the other screen but then I move it back to the other screen and am stuck a

    Mouse cursor displayed without offset

When the mouse cursor changes to one that should be displayed with an offset (e.g., the hand cursor should be displayed slightly to the left so that the tip of the finger matches the mouse position) it is not and instead is drawn with the same position as the default pointer.

This is not specific to any program. Hovering a link the web browser shows the hand cursor to the right of where it should be. The cross-hair pointer in paint is down and to the right of where it should be. The I-beam cursor for text selection is to the right in any text editor, etc. (oddly, Steps Recorder's screen shots show the cursor in the correct position, though it was wrong when the recording was in progress.) Only the arrow pointer where the tip is in the top-left and needs no offset is correct.

    I've tried the following:

    • Rebooted the computer
    • Removed the mouse from device manager, then reconnected it on a different USB port
    • Checked for windows updates, installed, and rebooted
    • Changed the mouse pointer settings (speed, appearance, DPI, etc.)
    • Installed the latest drivers for the graphics card and rebooted.
With no effect on the issue.

  3. Mouse cursor disappears on wireless display

I have a new Win11 desktop, and I've used the Wireless Display option to extend the desktop to an older Win10 laptop. When I move the mouse to the wireless display, the mouse cursor disappears. It's still there, because I can see where it highlights items in the taskbar when I move it down then side to side, and I can click on those items as well. The cursor is just invisible whenever it's moved to the wireless display. I've checked all the settings that I can find, but I don't see any cause of this. My searches haven't been able to find any threads with a match to this issue. Any suggestions?

  4. Mouse cursor does not move past one of my two extended displays

In external extended display monitor, Mouse cursor disappears at specific places (where I can type text) in the applications.

Mouse cursor disappears at specific places (where I can type text) in the applications . For example in text box, in the word document page etc. I am facing this issue only in the external extended display and not in the inbuilt laptop display

    Note:

Please do not suggested below solutions because the issue is something different.

    1. Uncheck "Hide Mouse pointer when typing" option.

    2. "Display pointer trail"
