    Mouse freezes, disappears and then keyboard stops working Windows 10 HP Split X2


    I see this is appears to be a common problem. I have an HP Split X2 running Windows 10, the touchpad mouse will freeze, disappear and the keyboard will stop working. When I go to the setting for my mouse, Synpatics is gone. After shutting down and leaving the laptop sit for a period of time it will reappear. What is going on here, this is extremely frustrating. I have updated the mouse driver and am updated on Windows and still have this problem. Help!

    HP Pavilion x2


    hey, i've had a hp detachable pavilion x2 for a week or so, it came with 8.1 on it and i wasn't going to upgrade to 10 but thought sod it and upgraded earlier and now my mouse touchpad randomly stops working, the mouse pointer disappears and the keybooard stops working, i have to use an on screen keyboard and use the touch screen to get around

    it says it is a ELAN touchpad, i've spent over an hour now googling this issue. all signs are pointing to it being a driver issue after a windows 10 upgrade yet i haven't seen an actual fix anywhere. can anyone point me to a link of the driver that i need please before i throw this thing into the street *Mad

    elan say to contact manufacturer yet HP have nothing on their website unless i have completely missed something obvious. please help

    Keyboard and Mouse freezing

    Similar thing happened to m RAT 9, it had a corrupted profile in the firmware, caused everything to freeze every 10 seconds or so, so I replaced the mouse. It didn't cause my keyboard to stop working though.

    Mouse freezes, disappears and then keyboard stops working Windows 10 HP Split X2

    Windows 10 Keyboard and mouse suddenly stopped working.

    Windows 10 - Keyboard and mouse all of sudden stopped working.

    The same keyboard and mouse works on 2 other laptops.

    What I have tried so far to fix.

    • Tried a different wireless keyboard and mouse. - no luck.
    • Ran the Troubleshooter - Hardware and Devices - It 'applied a fix' and rebooted. - still no luck.
    • Uninstalled all the drivers under HID from device manager. - still no luck.
    • Uninstalled all the USB drivers. - still no luck.
    • Uninstalled the root hub. - still no luck.
    • Tried System Restore to the previous date before the last windows update today. - still no luck

    Only strange thing is after rebooting the same drivers that I deleted shows up on device manager

    Any suggestions?
