Mouse is not adjusting to monitor in portrait orientation.

I have a laptop and 2 external monitors. My main monitor is connected to my laptop via HDMI the only hdmi port the laptop has. The second monitor I have is connected via a usb-c to hdmi adapter, and it is the monitor that I have in portrait orientation. So to give you a clearer picture, on the left is my laptop, in the middle is my secondary monitor in portrait orientation, and then on the right is my main monitor. In Windows display settings I have everything set up correctly, but for some reason my cursor movement between all displays is not adjusting. Going from my main monitor, or my lap

  2. Windows 10 External Monitor only :: How to set Portrait orientation?

    Thanks Elise,

I surmise the need for step recorder is not common enough to justify enabling the option for Intel driver.

Screen Capture Mouse Cursor position on External Monitor is why I create this post.

When it cannot capture Mouse Position, I use Steps Recorder but it records both Displays...

My Screen Capture is used for following:

    1. Power Automate Cloud
    2. Office 365
    3. communicate to Tech Support
Hoping Microsoft would add features to next version of

    1. Step Recorder
    2. Snip App(s)
    3. Windows Display setting
Assuming most users like me need

    1. Mouse cursor position captured by Snip App(s)
    2. External monitor, when used, is often
      1. to extend Display
      2. used for important task(s)
      3. App such as Office is on External Display
      4. Laptop monitor for secondary task(s)
      5. Step Recorder is to demo use of Single App, therefore External Monitor
      6. Portrait oriented for capturing web pages like Power Automate
    Kind Regards,

  3. Problem with orientation of mouse pointer when in portrait mode

Whenever I rotate my screen, Say from Landscape to portrait, then the mouse pointer's orientation also changes to that of portrait mode. Is there any way that I can keep the orientation of the mouse pointer as in landscape
mode, howsoever the screen is rotated. This is because many times I have to work in portrait mode but the mouse orientation does not allow me to move my mouse accordingly.

Windows 10 External Monitor only :: How to set Portrait orientation?

    Thanks Elise,

I found more links which suggest

    1. turn one of the monitor
    2. feedback to Microsoft
Using Steps Recorder on Two monitors. (microsoft.com)

How to limit Problem Steps Recorder to single - Microsoft Community

I need assistance on both suggestions; how to

    1. turn off laptop monitor?
    2. locate feedback hub on Cortana?
My workaround is to use PowerPoint Screen Recorder but this need additional screen capture.

The reason for Screen Recorder is Windows 10 Mouse Cursor for Office Menu item disappear when select Screen Capture App. It is cumbersome to show Tech Support what is selected on Office App on captured screen...

    Thanks Ahead!
