Is this a Windows 10 bug or maybe a mouse issue? Basically very very rarely I'll boot Windows 10 and there is no mouse pointer. I can either do two things, via keyboard login and restart machine or get round the back and unplug / replug the USB mouse back into the desktop. Anyone else ever get the same. It's pretty rare, say one boot in twenty. Perhaps less, a mild irritation. Typically no spare mouse to try

  2. Mouse Issue

    Hi,

Please provide the answers to the following for us to be able to learn more about the issue you're experiencing with your mouse:

    • Is your Windows 10 up-to-date?
    • What are the changes made or the things you've made before the issue start?
    • Have you tried using a different mouse device and got the same result?
    • Have you tried uninstalling then reinstalling your mouse device?
    • Are your drivers up-to-date? If not yet, you can follow the steps found on this
link on how to update your drivers in Windows 10.
    • Have you checked if your mouse manufacturer's website has an update for your particular mouse?
    • Does the issue persist in all applications?

Meanwhile, running the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter finds and repairs problems with devices and hardware. Here's how to run the
    Hardware and Devices troubleshooter:

    • Right-click the Start icon, then select Control Panel.
    • Choose the Large icons option from the View by drop down list found on the upper-right part of the Control Panel window.
    • Locate then select Troubleshooting.
    • Click View all from the left pane.
    • Locate and click Hardware and Devices to run the troubleshooter then follow the next steps.

Let us know the result after performing the above mentioned troubleshooter.

    Regards.

The pointer keeps snapping to the top-right corner of the screen and minimising things (e.g. Chrome). Help?

  5. System is desktop PC specialist Windows 10 professional, no touchscreen used just a standard 1080 monitor. Processors 6700k, nvidia 980ti, 16 gig ram, 500 GIG boot drive Samsung evo SSD, second HD is toshiba mechanical HD 3 TB. ASUS motherboard.

mouse and keyboard just USB plug and play, no drivers needed installing, brand of mouse is Aula gaming mouse

could it be a Windows 10 bug what with being touch centric sometimes confusing and not enabling the mouse?

    cheers Wayne

Are you stating this is a touchscreen monitor ? Might be drivers for this mouse, usually can get by without them in windows. Never heard of this brand, looking it up does not come across much online for actual site.

Control Panel in search type Troubleshoot, in troubleshooting select Find and Fix problems, select Hardware and Sound, then Configure a Device, run that click next let it run.

Device manager showing any yellow exclamation points, under Mouse and Human Interface Devices ?

Hi, no it's not a touch screen monitor. Just a normal one - I just thought that Windows 10 might be doing something relating to it. Yeah it's not an easy one to google as it's not well known but seemed to have decent Amazon reviews. I might try and buy a different one, I also will try pressing mouse after restart on lock screen rather than pressing keyboard to see if that stops it. I did look for drivers but couldn't see any to download, I always prefer to avoid installing drivers where possible esp for something simple like a mouse.

Thanks for for your help, I'll be sure to update the thread to see how I get on just in case others get the same issue

Try the troubleshoot steps and look in device manager for issues in case too. Yes, with a mouse you will rarely need the drivers unless for custom settings for it or if windows 10 does not have one to use for it. Your welcome !
