Windows 10: Mouse movement feels restricted for a moment, then normal again

Yesterday, I noticed my mouse felt like it wasn’t moving freely. I’d move it across the desk, but the cursor on screen only moved a short distance — like something was holding it back. It lasted for about 2 seconds each time, then went back to normal. It happened a few times yesterday, but today the mouse is working fine again. The batteries are new, and the cursor never froze — just didn’t travel as far as expected. Any idea what might cause this? Some kind of interference? Or maybe Windows reacting slowly for a moment?

Microsoft Ergonomic Sculpt Mouse - Quick Movements Cause Incorrect Movements

While using the MS Ergo Sculpt Mouse, when moving the mouse quickly across my mouse pad in an arching motion,the mouse seems to move sporadically and in all directions except the one it should be going in. Moving the mouse in a straight direction up and
down, left and right, diagonally, no problems. When trying these swift arching movements, the mouse direction seems to invert for very brief moments, almost causing the mouse to move in circles at times. Mouse Acceleration is disabled, I'm up to date on my
drivers, I have fresh batteries installed, and it happens across multiple mouse pads, desk mats, and bare desk surface. Has anyone else experienced this issues?

I love this mouse, but between my high resolution displays and my need to have accurate mouse movements and placement on screen for work, a low mouse movement speed setting is necessary for me to work accurately. I need to pick up and move the mouse across
my mouse pad several times in order to move my cursor across my displays, and sometimes these arching motions need to happen, causing this issue to pop up.

 

Mouse Movement

I am having unwanted mouse movement, specifically when trying to manage files. I'll select a file in a folder and then find the mouse has returned me to the top of the folder and the selected file (still selected) is off the screen..

 

Mouse sensitivity changed by itself. It feels weird, incosistant, like it's on ice.

We see that you are having issues with the sensitivity of your mouse. Is the Enhance pointer precision in your PC enabled? If not, you can follow the steps below:

• Type Mouse in the Search bar.
• Click on Mouse and Touchpad settings.
• Click on the Additional mouse options.
• Click on the Pointer Options tab.
• Uncheck the Enhance pointer precision checkbox.

If the issue persists, we suggest you to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter. Follow the steps provided below:

• Type Troubleshooting in the Search bar and press Enter.
• Click on View All in the top left corner.
• This will display the list of troubleshooters which are built-in in the computer. You can click on
  Hardware and Devices from the list and you can run the troubleshooter.
