Windows 10: Mouse needs to click 3,4,5 times just to get one click

In all instances, in any application, folder or process, my mouse needs to click 2,3,4 times to get one click in. Was fine before I got the most recent update, and it updated and now I'm having mouse problems. It's an HP mouse I got about 4 months ago so I know the mouse is good, it doesn't do it on other devices I haven't pushed the update too. Please help. thank you. I've double the mouse double click speed to the max and that barely helped.

. I can not use my mouse for 4-5 seconds as every click while working, or typing deleting , mouse is is froze up for 5 seconds or so. This is wasting much of my time and not comfortable while working. Any suggestion?

I suggest you to follow the methods mentioned below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Disconnect all the external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) drives, etc...) Except mouse and the keyboard and then try to shut down.

Method 2: I suggest you to
run in-built Power troubleshooter and check.

Follow the steps:

1. Press Windows Key + X.

2. Click on Control Panel.

3. Select Troubleshooting on the left pane, click on View All.

4. Click on Power to run the troubleshooter.

Method 3: If the above method doesn’t help, I suggest you to
reset and restore all of the default Power Plans back to their default settings.

Follow the steps:

1. Press Windows Key + X.

2. Select Command Prompt (Admin).

3. At the command prompt, type powercfg -restoredefaultschemes, and then press
ENTER.

4. At the command prompt, type exit to exit the Command Prompt window.

5. Restart the computer and check with the issue.

• Type mouse on the search bar and select Mouse and touchpad settings.
• Select Additional Mouse Settings.
• Select Pointer Options and adjust the mouse speed under Motion.

If the issue still persists, I suggest you to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

2. Select Troubleshooting.

3. Select View all on the top left corner.

4. Click on Hardware and Devices.
