Windows 10: Mouse no longer functions like it historically has

One two 2 new laptops work/personal, my mouse no longer functions like it historically has. Yes, I have tried un-loosening a stuck Shift, or Alt, or Ctrl key. Yes, I have tried On-Screen Keyboard [Insert] , which I think helped on next broken mouse issue below, but immediately stopped helping there on so this is NOT a solution. 1 Cleaning out email Inbox, I click on a Microsoft Office Outlook message, then hold shift to highlight a message below to include everything in between highlight a bunch of emails, expect then to "drag-and-drop" all messages to folder -- BUT inst

Incorrect mouse functioning.

I have no functioning mouse or keyboard. How can I correct this issue without any of the usb ports communicating with any device inserted? They are providing power but nothing is being installed like normal. windows 10 64 hp pavillion 1110 series. I have
tried all the steps people have listed and none are correcting the issue.

Mouse not working

It appears that your mouse is no longer detected on your computer. The possible reasons why its no longer working could be hardware or driver issues. For us to isolate and address this issue, we would like to ask the following information:

• Are you using a laptop or a desktop computer?
• If a desktop, are you using a USB or wireless mouse?

Since the issue appeared after an OS installation, we suggest that you run the hardware troubleshooter. Follow these steps:
