  1. Mouse now takes 54 sec to power-on after Desktop appears

I've had this AsRock Z97 motherboard for 5 years. it has an SSD HD and has always booted up fast with the mouse being active as soon as I see the Desktop. Now it takes 54 sec for the mouse to power on. It's an MS mouse and I can watch the red light come on the mouse and then it works.

I feel certain this was caused by me trying to setup a BIOS auto start timer called "RTC alarm power on". I set it to power up my computer at 9am every day. it was difficult to get it to work, so I tried lots of things. In the Asrock forum I searched and found several possible solutions. One involved turning off Fast Startup in Win 10. I had to enable Hiberfil in order to do that. So I did.

Then In the BIOS I turned off ACPI HPET TABLE, since the forum suggested it may be conflicting with the RTC alarm timer. I finally got it all to work, but upon booting up that's when I noticed the mouse taking about a min to work.

I re-enabled ACPI HPET TABLE and found out the RTC alarm still worked. . I've never liked having Hiberfil file since it's large and I like to keep my boot drive lean for images that I do. So I used the Command prompt to delete Hiberfil and eliminate the Fast Boot option. The RTC alarm still worked after this, but the mouse was still slow to power on.

I disabled the RTC alarm to see if that would affect the mouse and nothing I do has fixed this mouse issue. I looked at the Power Options in Control Panel and don't see anything that I think can fix this. I'm using Win 10 1909

    Any suggestions?

    :)

  2. mouse is not working right

unfortunately there isn't a lot to a usb mouse. what i would suggest is checking the power management settings on it.

Right-click the start menu and choose device manager
Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers at the very bottom
Double-click on each HUB you have listed, click Power Management Tab at the top, and UNCHECK "Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power"
You may have HUBs called Generic and Root Hub. Perform the step above on All of them.

If you continue to have the issue, i would imagine your mouse is malfunctioning. Perhaps try another mouse just to be sure. This will help you determine if it is in fact the mouse of computer causing the issue.

    Good Luck!!

  3. Taskbar bug: switching to another window -will not appear at the front

Follow either of these steps to fix the issue with the Active window hiding behind.

    Method 1:
I suggest you to disable window by hovering over it with the mouse and check if it helps. To do so I suggest you to try the below given steps and check if it helps:

    1. Press Windows key + X key and click on Control Panel.
    2. Select or click Ease of Access.
    3. Click or tap onEase of Access Centre.
    4. Click on Make the Mouse Easier to Use was uncheck Activate Window by hovering over it with the mouse.
    5. Check if issue is resolved.
    Method 2:
I would suggest you to completely uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall it. Kindly follow the below given steps.

    1. Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.
    2. In the list of devices, you should see the touchpad drivers.
    3. Right click on the device and then select "Uninstall".
    4. In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.
    5. In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes” option. This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.

  4. Mouse now takes 54 sec to power-on after Desktop appears

    Mouse not working

    Hi MaalisuoKofi,

It appears that your mouse is no longer detected on your computer. The possible reasons why its no longer working could be hardware or driver issues. For us to isolate and address this issue, we would like to ask the following information:

    • Are you using a laptop or a desktop computer?
    • If a desktop, are you using a USB or wireless mouse?

Since the issue appeared after an OS installation, we suggest that you run the hardware troubleshooter. Follow these steps:

    • In the Cortana search, search for Troubleshooting.
    • Click Troubleshooting in the search results.
    • In the left pane, click View all.
    • Locate and click Hardware and Devices.
    • Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

You may also refer to Mouse, touchpad, and keyboard problems in Windows for more information.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Regards.
