Windows 10: Mouse pointer doesn't disappear when typing

I've setup my mouse cursor preferences with "Hide pointer while typing" being checked. But the mouse pointer doesn't disappear. I even rebooted after selecting this preference. Is there some other setting that I'm missing? I have my pointer set to being black (instead of white) and I've changed the size of the pointer to be larger; I only mention this because I'm not using exactly the default setup.

I'm running 10.0.18363 Build 18363 on a Lenovo Thinkpad Carbon X1 7th Gen. The laptop has two pointing devices: a trackpad and an ELAN TrackPoint for Thinkpad. Is this a driver issue?

Mouse Pointer Disappearing

I have downloaded and uploaded some custom mouse cursors onto the Dell laptop I use, and the mouse pointer disappears every time (and only) when I use the touchscreen. Only my default pointer disappears, and the other pointers, such as the link select and
resize pointers. The only solution I have found is to change one of the mouse settings from Control Panel and then applying the changes; however, having to change a mouse setting and applying it every time I use the touchscreen is a huge nuisance.
Please help me.

Also, I have tried turning off the "hide pointer while typing" option, the function key combinations, and my mouse drivers seem to be up to date.

 

Mouse pointer disappearing

When I updated Windows 10 today, with the November 2019 update, my mouse pointer was disappearing while navigating through my Inbox in the Windows Mail app. The way I got the mouse pointer to come back, was to change the advanced mouse
setting options so that the pointer type is on
"Text select". I work as an IT Tech. Many people in the office were having this issue of the mouse pointer disappearing. And this was the solution that worked for everybody. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad and may people in the office had similar equipment
(ThinkCenter). I don't know if they got that issue because they updated Windows 10, or for some other reason. But the fix is the same for both situations.
