Windows 10: Mouse pointer periodically freezes and stutters

As the title implies, the mouse on my windows 10 laptop will occasionally freeze and stutter semi-uncontrollably. This typically happens while in-game, especially when loading a game. I have done a bit of research and tried some generic fixes reinstalling drivers, etc and none of them solved the problem. One fix I have found is to lower the display scale I normally have it 150% for readability and the mouse never stutters at 100% scale. Are there any other fixes for that problem? Changing the display scale seems like a roundabout fix, and it seems like there should be something more direct that doesn't require changing the scale just to play a game normally.

Pointer of my mouse freezes

Hi! For the past 2 months, the pointer of my mouse (HP plugin, not wireless) freezes. It happens a few times within a one-hour period. It freezes for a few seconds then comes back to life. It's very annoying! Is there any fix for this, maybe a driver
update is needed? Thanks.

You can customize your mouse in a variety of ways in Windows. To change how your mouse pointer looks, you can follow the steps below:

• Right-click on the Start menu, then click Control Panel.
• Select Mouse, then go to the Pointers tab.
  
• Select the pointer you prefer from the drop-down list, click
  Apply > OK.

If you want to use a pointer that is not on the list, you can download it online. After that, go to Control Panel > Mouse > Pointers tab again, then click
Browse.

If its wired check to make sure it is properly plugged in.

Tr another USB PORT.

Try another Mouse to see if it does the same.

ALSO :

Try turning OFF ENHANCE POINTER PRECISION in MOUSE PROPERTIES.

To do this go to :

CONTROL PANEL > select MOUSE > select POINTER OPTIONS tab > take the CHECK MARK out of ENHANCE POINTER PRECISION then click APPLY then OK.

You may have to increase your POINTER SPEED in POINTER OPTIONS while there. and APPLY.

See if that works.
