Windows 10: Mouse pointer too small in software and fine when not

I know this was already asked back in 2017, however, it was not answered for my issue. My mouse pointer becomes very small when using the CarveWright software 4 & 5. It is the correct size when I am outside the software. While pressing "F10" on the keyboard, it will change to the normal size, however, it will not stay that size unless I press F10 every time I use the mouse. CarveWright states it's a Microsoft issue - not theirs. This works. But oh, is the startup painfully slow. Not sure what is worse, the small pointers or the startup performance.

 

Mouse Pointer

Hi,

You can customize your mouse in a variety of ways in Windows. To change how your mouse pointer looks, you can follow the steps below:

• Right-click on the Start menu, then click Control Panel.
• Select Mouse, then go to the Pointers tab.
  
• Select the pointer you prefer from the drop-down list, click
  Apply > OK.

If you want to use a pointer that is not on the list, you can download it online. After that, go to Control Panel > Mouse > Pointers tab again, then click
Browse.

Windows Update runs regularly, and all available updates are installed.

Startup is quick.

The "Disable hardware graphics acceleration" is already checked.

I still believe it has something to do with the 3840x2160 resolution and the scaling in certain applications... FWIW.
