Windows 10: Mouse problems, not very responsive.

I have a Logitech MX510 and bought a Logitech MX518 to cure the lag in the mouse response, very slow. With the MX518 I tried to use the software recommend but one of the software was not made for MX518 and the second did not recognize the MX518. Windows did not recognized the new hardware and under Device Manger MX518 and MX510 where recognised as generic mice. I got the MX510 to be recognized using Logitech Set Point software, but it still unresponsive to movement. I tried all the USB ports on the backplate of the motherboard and no change. Windows failed to register the MX510 when I used the Device Manger to manually specify the mouse. Anyone got ideas as to what is wrong, besides the fact MX510 is seven years old and need replacing, which I did try to replace with the MX518 but it did not work either. Any idea what is wrong?

Aaaand the ironic thing there is, that no doubt WOULD void the warranty.

Seriously though, thanks for the suggestion but I plan to wait for their response. They said they can't authorize a replacement unless all the troubleshooting steps they emailed me don't work, which they didn't.

I've also contacted Newegg, and they said they'll do anything they can to help get me a manufacturer replacement in the case of the mouse not working with any of Logi's troubleshooting steps and if Logi refuses to replace it.

I had an MX500 that easily outlasted this one with lots of use. Seems to me the more complex the mouse, the more failure prone they are.

• Open Settings.
• Go to Update and Security and select Windows Update.
• Select View installed update history.
• Choose the latest update and select uninstall.
