Windows 10: Mouse Problems

Whenever I go into a program, in 1 certain spot it changes to Windows default mouse. I can't select anything inside the spot, etc. Even when I go to the taskbar, whenever I go on the left side of the taskbar, the start menu cannot be clicked, or anything 4 things away from it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRCeabUJeAg Not a bug with Roblox, but with the whole OS. Don't mind the watermark and me playing roblox. But in the video, the Roblox cursor switches to the Windows cursor and can't select or do anything in the spot. is a Microsoft person. That restored faith severely taxed for this being an 8.1 problem that goes back at least 2 years and somehow made it in to the next major revision.

This issue might occur due to corrupt mouse settings.

I would suggest you to make sure that the mouse settings are enabled on the Startup tab.

Follow the methods:

Method 1:

I would suggest you to check if the mouse software is running at the Startup or within the startup list. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows+R keys and type “msconfig”. Hit Enter.
• Go to Startup tab and locate the mouse software (could be Unifying software). Check the box besides the mouse icon and click on OK.
• Make the required changes for the mouse setting (swap mouse buttons) and then restart the computer.

Check if that fixes the issue. If not, proceed to the next method.

Method 2:

Let’s make the required change to swap the mouse click settings from registry and check if it resolves the issue. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows+R keys and type “regedit”. Hit Enter.
• Navigate to the following location:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Mouse\SwapMouseButtons

• Change the key for SwapMouseButtons from ‘0’ to ‘1’.

Restart the computer.

Aaaand the ironic thing there is, that no doubt WOULD void the warranty.

Seriously though, thanks for the suggestion but I plan to wait for their response. They said they can't authorize a replacement unless all the troubleshooting steps they emailed me don't work, which they didn't.

I've also contacted Newegg, and they said they'll do anything they can to help get me a manufacturer replacement in the case of the mouse not working with any of Logi's troubleshooting steps and if Logi refuses to replace it.

I had an MX500 that easily outlasted this one with lots of use. Seems to me the more complex the mouse, the more failure prone they are.
