  1. Mouse settings reverting to something I’ve never set them to

My mouse started acting up recently. Something is causing it to change settings sporadically. Looking through a couple threads they suggested to create a new user profile to verify my current one is not corrupted. I’ve uninstalled my 3rd party app. Changed mice and created a user user profile up to this point. Nothing has worked. My mouse resets the primary button, changes scroll speed, and cursor type everytime I open settings as well

    :)

  2. mouse settings revert to default

    Hi,

A possible cause why your mouse settings revert to default could be an outdated mouse driver. We suggest that you download and install the latest mouse driver from the manufacturer's website and see if it helps. After ensuring that the correct driver is
installed, check if the device is recognized in the Device Manager.

Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes.

Custom Text Settings Reverting To Default.

Thanks Edwin. It seems what you suggest does have an effect. If I set it 150% the options become greyed out, set them back to 100 or 125% and the option returns.

Still a mystery why the setting changed on its own though, and the mouse pointer reverting.

    Mouse setting reverts

    Hi Jim,

Is the computer on a domain network?

    Method 1:

I would suggest you to follow these steps and try to run the Hardware troubleshooter:

    • Press Windows key + X on the keyboard.
    • Click on Control panel.
    • Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes in the Control panel
      search box.
    • Click on Troubleshooting and click on View all.
    • Click on Hardware and Devices troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

Start your computer in safe mode and check if the issue persists:

    Windows help and learning

    Step 2:

If it works fine in safe mode, perform clean boot to check if any third party application is causing the issue, as clean boot helps in eliminating software conflicts.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows - Microsoft Support

Note: After troubleshooting, see the section “How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot” to return the computer to a
    Normal startup mode.

    Let us know the results.
