Windows 10: Mouse settings

So, I have been having trouble when it comes to the left button on my Alienware touchpad. It sometimes reads a single click as a double click despite me decreasing the double click timer so that it is easier to distinguish between what is and isn't a double click. I was looking through my settings here on Windows 10 and I noticed there is no feature to deactivate the double click functionality of a mouse. Yes, you can change the settings when it comes to opening folders but not when it pertains to the mouse as a whole. Why is there no way to completely turn off the double click feature as a whole?

• Navigate to Start>Settings>Devices.
• Click on Mouse and Touchpad.
• In the right pane, click on Additional Mouse Settings.
• Under Pointer tab, Click on Use Default.
• Click on Apply and OK.

Mouse lag

I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue. I suggest you to install all pending Windows updates and check. Follow the steps below and check if that helps.

• Type Mouse and Touchpad Setting in Search and hit
  Enter.
• Change settings as per your requirement; click on Advance mouse options.
• Change settings under Buttons, Points, Pointer options, Wheel.
