Windows 10: Mouse Skipping

Hi!I recently ran into a problem with my computer where my mouse was skipping. It would only happen at a certain place on my mousepad, and if i ran it over the same spot it would keep happening. I then thought that it was my mousepad and used another one. It still kept happening. I thought that it could only have been my mouse so i got my other mouse and attempted to use that. Still continued. I was deeply confused so i started searching for solutions. Here are the things i've done:1. Reinstalled Mouse drivers2. Reinstalled Radeon Software I have a 5700 XT3. Disabled pointer precision4. Incr

Mouse skips from 1st monitor to 2nd monitor while typing

Please answer the below questions to assist you better,

1. What is the make and model of the mouse?

2. Is it a wired mouse or a wireless mouse?

Follow the below methods and check if it helps,

Method 1: Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter.

Follow these steps to run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

a) Type
Troubleshooting in the Search Bar and then
Enter.

Select View all on the top left corner.

d)
Run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.



Method 2: Update the mouse driver from the Device Manager.


I would suggest you to manually update the Mouse drivers from the
Device Manager and check if it helps.

Steps:-

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Select Device manager.
• Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
• Right click on Mouse driver and select Update Driver Software.
• Restart the computer.

Method 3: Enable Mouse Trails

Type Control Panel in
Search Bar and then Enter.

Select Mouse.

In Pointer Option Check the
Display pointer trails.

Mouse lag

Hi Zbigniew,

I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue. I suggest you to install all pending Windows updates and check. Follow the steps below and check if that helps.

• Type Mouse and Touchpad Setting in Search and hit
  Enter.
• Change settings as per your requirement; click on Advance mouse options.
• Change settings under Buttons, Points, Pointer options, Wheel.

mouse is not working right


unfortunately there isn't a lot to a usb mouse. what i would suggest is checking the power management settings on it.

Right-click the start menu and choose device manager
Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers at the very bottom
Double-click on each HUB you have listed, click Power Management Tab at the top, and UNCHECK "Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power"
You may have HUBs called Generic and Root Hub. Perform the step above on All of them.

If you continue to have the issue, i would imagine your mouse is malfunctioning. Perhaps try another mouse just to be sure. This will help you determine if it is in fact the mouse of computer causing the issue.
