Windows 10: Mouse stopped when I record my screen and try to draw using my mouse

I am frustrated about this problem. When I record my screen using obs studio/zoom and try to draw in paint/Microsoft whiteboard, after about 10 seconds of drawing my mouse always stopped and did not respond. I have tried about 10 times and it always happened.Please help!!!I have tried using another mouse, and it also happened.This issue only appears when I use the mouse to draw when I record my screen. If I don't record it, nothing will happen.

Cannot draw with Mouse in Whiteboard

I am unable to draw with the mouse on my Laptop (no touch screen capabilities) in MS Whiteboard.

Please advise how to enable this feature.

Wandering mouse

Hi,

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to adjust the mouse speed and check if that helps to resolve the issue.

• Type mouse on the search bar and select Mouse and touchpad settings.
• Select Additional Mouse Settings.
• Select Pointer Options and adjust the mouse speed under Motion.

If the issue still persists, I suggest you to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

2. Select Troubleshooting.

3. Select View all on the top left corner.

4. Click on Hardware and Devices.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

6. Check if issue persists.

Spinning blue circle next to mouse pointer

This is an incredibly frustrating issue. I do a lot of screen capture recordings and I can't have my mouse arrow popping up a blue circle every 4 to 5 seconds. I'm not sure exactly when this started for me, but now that I'm ready to do some more recording
I'm noticing it constantly.

Here's a solution I've found to at least stop the blue circle:

• Start with the Microsoft suggestion of going to the mouse properties.
• Click on the "Pointers" tab.
• Select the "Working In Background" pointer and click on "Browse"
• Select the first mouse arrow option (the one that looks like a normal mouse arrow)

This doesn't get rid of whatever is causing the system to have to keep working in the background, but it will at least make the blue circle stop popping up.
