Windows 10: Mouse stopped working, but works fine on other computers. USB-port still works for other...

I have a HP Spectre x360. It's fairly new and runs on Windows 11. I've had it for a few months now, and mainly use it for web browsing, streaming and keeping up with mail and such. I don't use fancy software or download a whole lot of anything. Since this morning, my external mouse Logitec has stopped working. This laptop has one USB-A port 3.2, so at first I was afraid that the port had stopped working. Since there is only one USB-A port, I can't use another port for my mouse. When I plugged in my phone using a USB-A cord, my phone started charging, so the problem is not the port. I then

Wireless Mouse stops working when external HDD plugged in to USB3 port

I have a minor but annoying problem and can't find a solution....

My wireless mouse stops working when an external USB3 HDD is plugged in to USB3 port. The mouse is about 3 feet away from the receiver.

My mouse is a Logitech M310.

• I don't have the problem if a USB 2 external HDD is connected to either a USB2 or USB3 port.
• I have moved the mouse receiver to different ports on both the front and back of the computer but this doesn't change anything.
• If I move the mouse very close to the receiver (a couple of inches), it works so it seems that the wireless range is reduced when the USB3 HDD is plugged in.
• If I connect a wired mouse, it works fine.
• I have 2 USB3 ports and the problem is the same on both.
• If the USB3 HDD is connected to a USB2 port, the mouse works normally.
• I changed the battery in the mouse but this didn't help.
• the USB3 HDD is a WD Passport that is self powered through the USB port.

Any suggestions?

 

USB ports not working properly

On my new motherboard the two usb 2.0 ports at the back are working fine, which is where my keyboard and mouse are plugged into
however the usb 3 ports don't work, I tried plugging my webcam into it and it didn't work, however I plugged my external drive in and it got powered up and started vibrating but wasn't recognized at all

That leads me onto my second problem; my external drive isn't recognized on my computer on windows 7, yet I'm using it on vista and XP right now!

 

USB 3 Ports not working

Maybe the ext.HDD doest not support USB3 , or maybe it has stopped working since who knows when, its a Macro Drive and has the blue usb cable , so thats why i thought it would work, mouse and Kb work fine on every port, i dont have a usb 3 Flash drive to try out so ill get one. Front panel seems ok . However do you think i need to install the drivers on the page i linked?
