    Mouse unresponsive after computer goes to sleep?


    I bought a new computer about a year or so ago, I will mention that it came preinstalled with windows 11, which I downgraded to windows 10. I don't think that is the cause, but when my computer comes out of sleep mode my mouse clicks are unresponsive. I can still move the cursor around, I just can't click on anything. The keyboard works fine as well when this happens, it's actually my only way of resolving the issue by ctrl+alt+del and then esc to back out of it. After that it works until the next time it goes to sleep. It's not a super big deal, but it's a minor inconvenience that I'd like to

    Mouse won't wake up computer from sleep.

    When my computer goes to sleep, power light is blinking on the computer so perhaps it's deep sleep, moving the USB attached mouse does not wake it up.
    Allow mouse to wake is enabled:

    This used to work, even with 2004 but somewhere with one of their updates it stopped working. I tried a new mouse, same problem. Any suggestions?

    Yes, I've done many Google searches and looked at lots of responses but there really is nothing more than the above as far as a suggested fix.

    I've uninstalled the mouse from Device Manager then rebooted, no help.

    USB attached keyboard works okay and wakes the computer.

    I suggest you to follow the steps provided below if not tried already and check if it helps.

    • Navigate to Start>Settings>System>Power & sleep.
    • In the right pane, select Never from the drop down list for
      Screen       and Sleep.
    • Close the dialog box and check for status.

    Maybe you have something configured to sleep when idle. Check that on your power settings.
