Windows 10: Moves files between 2 external Dirves, but most files do not show up

I have an external 1Tb HDD named Passport, that was almost full, and I decided to move the files on it to a 1Tb stick named USB D::The HDD is older and I did not want to lose these files. Also, a folder appeared on Passport, the one that starts with "avjb....." that I could not completely delete. I am afraid it is a virus.I initiated a move from Passport to D:, to transfer all folders except for the suspect one. It took about 16 hours to complete. The result is below: The suspect file was not moved, and the other two folders were copied, not moved. The method to move was to highlight the sus

External Hard Drive

We suggest that you try the troubleshooting steps below:

• Open your External Hard Drive file in File Explorer.
• Type the name of the file you want to search on the search box and click Enter.

The file will show up in Search Results and you will be able to move it to the correct folder.

I don't think that step #3 is even needed. The probabiliy of two MD5 hashes from differing files colliding is what, 2^-128 ?
Even if your were hashing a million files the odds of a hash collision on differing files is astronomically small.

 

Generating a .txt based file list in Windows 7

I want to be able to generate a .txt file that lists all the files and folders in a specific folder on my PC, but don't know the name of any programs that do that. Searched on google a bit and came up with this guide, but it's for XP and I can't seem to find some of the folder options to modify the .bat file. Any suggestions? Thanks

EDIT: The .bat file will do what I want if it is in the folder I want to do it in, but the option I want to add is having the right click option that it shows.
