Windows 10: Movies and TV app cant play 6 channel audio on windows 11

Seem like my Movies and TV app only can play 2 channel audio , does anyone know how to fix that ? it can play normaly on windows 10 but after i update to windows 11 that happen

DTS audio is not playing on Movies&Tv

A DTS audio file format is not supported by the Movies&Tv app which is why you're unable to play it. To better assist you, we suggest that you visit this

link. From there you'll see all of the file formats being supported by the Movies&Tv app.

Movies and TV app won't switch to English audio track

[Windows Version 10.0.19044.2364]

I'm trying to play an MKV file with multiple audio channels associated with different languages using the Movies and TV app. M&TV decides (for some strange reason) to play the French audio track even though my default system language is English. I can switch to any of the other audio channels (Portuguese, Spanish) but not English. If I select English, the selection is ignored and playback continues in French. VLC has no problem playing the English channel (by default, even). How do I get M&TV to play the English audio channel?

There was a similar post here several years ago, but no answer.

 

Movies & TV app not working properly.

Hi,

I suggest you to un-install and re-install Movies & TV App and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key.
• Type Windows Powershell.
• Right click on it and select Run as administrator.
• Type in the following command to un-install Movies & TV App.

get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ZuneVideo* | remove-appxpackage

Note: The Movies & TV App can be reinstalled using the Store App or by following the link mentioned below. You will need to exit the Store app if it is already open before reinstalling the app.
