Windows 10: movies and tv issues not streaming 2025

Hello all, so for the last few months, movies and tv will not let me stream movies I have bought and paid for. it has issues downloading multiple movies and or tv shows at the same time and freezes. I allowed a Microsoft technician to access my computer, and they had said it is something on Windows side which is the application the Zune.Video was at fault. I have done everything from repairing, to deleting and reinstalling, to removing the Zune code with the CMD console, to checking windows file image, the only thing left for me to do is rewrite the program itself which has worked perfectly fi

Movies & TV app stream to XBox One

From the description provided, I understand that the cast button functionality is not working in Movies and TV App.

As an initial recommendation, I would suggest you to run the App Troubleshooter for Windows 10 and check if it helps.

Steps to uninstall Movies & TV
App

• 
  Press Windows key and type Powershell
  in search, right click on it and Open as administrator .
  
• 
  Type the following command in Powershell and hit enter:
  

get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ZuneVideo* | remove-appxpackage

Install Movies & TV
App from Microsoft Store

Stream iTunes movie rentals to TV

Apart from buying Apple TV, what is the best way to show on my TV an iTunes movie rented and downloaded onto my PC?

I recently moved. In my old place, the PC and TV were in the same room, and I had them connected by a HDMI cable. The TV showed up as a second monitor. And when I wanted to watch movies, I would start iTunes to rent and play the movie with the TV selected
as the monitor.

But now the TV is not in the same room as my PC, and it seems that iTunes DRM does not allow casting/streaming to the TV. (I can stream other non-DRM movies to my TV.)

What are my options for watching iTunes movie rentals on my TV?

Hi,

I suggest you to un-install and re-install Movies & TV App and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key.
• Type Windows Powershell.
• Right click on it and select Run as administrator.
• Type in the following command to un-install Movies & TV App.

get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ZuneVideo* | remove-appxpackage

Note: The Movies & TV App can be reinstalled using the Store App or by following the link mentioned below. You will need to exit the Store app if it is already open before reinstalling the app.
