    Movies & TV and Windows Media Player only play audio for the first few seconds of videos


    When I open a video in Movies & TV or Windows Media Player the first few seconds of the video plays only audio with a black screen on Movies & TV or only audio and a freeze frame of the video on Windows Media Player. On Windows Media Player if I set the video to repeat, the freeze frame will be a little shorter on subsequent views. The issue is the worst on MP4s and M4Vs and less pronounced but still present with webms. The length of time in which no video is played varies from file to file but each file seems to have a consistent length of time in which it stays frozen. It lasts

    Hhy Windows media player and movies& TV app cant play DTS audio?

    I was trying to play a video playback those 2 apps are able to play the video but cant play audio even free media players can play those audios but why Microsoft players cant?

    My file description:

    Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1920x1080 25fps [V: English [eng] (h264 high L4.1, yuv420p, 1920x1080) [default]]

    Audio: DTS 48000Hz 6ch 1536kbps [A: English [eng] (dts, 48000 Hz, 5.1, 1536 kb/s) [default]]

    Media player + Movie and Tv Is having a 5-8 seconds lag whenever i choose to play any video. For the first 5-8 seconds, only got audio and i will miss out part of the video. Please help to fix

    ALL THE VIDEO I PLAY USING MEDIA PLAYER + MOVIE AND TV, FOR THE FIRST 5 TO 8 SECONDS, ONLY AUDIO IS HEARD. WILL BE BLACK SCREEN NOT SURE WHY AND THE AUDIO WILL KEEP ON GOING FOR AWHILE BEFORE VIDEO COMES UP. BY THEN , MY VIDEO IS ALREADY ENDING

    Windows media player and movies& TV app cant play DTS audio

    I have read that Movies & TV doesn't support DTS audio. I thought Windows Media Player does support DTS. Maybe not.

    I use Handbrake to convert my videos to mp4 and the audio codecs in Handbrake all seem to work. There seems to be very little or no loss of quality. Also most of these mp4 conversions can play directly from within the online OneDrive.
