Windows 10: Movies & TV app no longer showing up as either default video player, or on the apps list...

I am having trouble with my movies & tv app. I usually use it for watching all videos, as the lack of stuttering makes it the best option I have currently, but a bit ago it suddenly wasn't the default anymore, and I couldn't even find it within the "Open with" menu. I can't find the install location for the app either, so I can't select the exe myself. Help?

Movies & TV app not working properly.

Hi,

I suggest you to un-install and re-install Movies & TV App and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key.
• Type Windows Powershell.
• Right click on it and select Run as administrator.
• Type in the following command to un-install Movies & TV App.

get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ZuneVideo* | remove-appxpackage

Note: The Movies & TV App can be reinstalled using the Store App or by following the link mentioned below. You will need to exit the Store app if it is already open before reinstalling the app.

Movies & TV app

Until today I have been able to play videos from a memory card with the Movies & TV app. Now when I attempt to play one I am asked how I want to open it and Movies & TV is not listed in options. I tried Windows Media player but had no luck. What has changed
and how do I get back to the app (Movies & TV) that was working prior to today?

No information regarding controls is available. 90% of users give up and go back to VLC player, which not only has KB controls but allows mapping as well.
