    Movies & TV & Media Player won't play videos now but VLC player does


    Hi, yesterday my Movies & TV app and Media Player app won't play videos that had previously worked ok. Curiously my non-Microsoft app, VLC media player, works fine.In case these would be relevant info, I had just uninstalled AVC Labs's video enhancing AI, a very demanding app when it was still installed but didn't cause any problem to those apps, and also I noticed that when I checked the Task Manager the relevant app runs Runtime Broker while loading.

    Playing movies in Media player and Movies App

    hello, I am trying to play MP4 movies in Media player and the films and TV app and they don't open at all. Whn I try to play via DIVX or VLC player, they play but with no sound.

    My sound card is at the latest driver level.

    Media Player wont play ANY video files

    Hi,

    WMP will not play some videos without something called "MPEG-2 Video Extension"...

    This is free from the "Store"... Just type MPEG into search and you should see it...

    This is also needed for the "Movies & TV" Player...

    Even with this Extension, they will not play a DVD movie or file...

    They will also not play Flash Video .flv...

    That is where the VLC Media Player comes in handy...

    downloaded videos do not play on any player on windows 10 (windows media player, vlc player, film and TV)

    Hello there

    I have updated my system to windows 10. Recently I just downloaded some videos on my computer. When I try and play the video, it doesn't play on any player on my laptop. I have tried Media Player, VLC player and also Film and TV which i think is a default
    player.

    I have tried opening the video on all the players and all of them just tries to open the file but cannot play.

    has anyone faced this issue ?

    please help.
