Windows 10: Moving backup folder to another location windows 11

Hello dears i hope you all doing wellBy using windows backup windows 7 feature i performed back up windows 11 hard driveWhen i want to restore it from winRe it didn’t have any problem for that because I didn’t change the location,But i want to move backup file to external hard drive And restore it from my external hard drive Then winRe didn’t detect my backup fileIs this have any solution? Because i want to move backup folder to external hard diskThe reason of why i want that because i have a computer which i need to backup every day and sort it from nas server when anything happens to my

Is the external drive a NTFS format?



The custom library files that are stored in your user profile will not be backed up.

Try the following suggestions and check.

• Move the library folder from the user profile path to a location outside the user profile path. For example, move the folder to the C:\MyLibraries folder.
• Exclude the library from the list of files that Windows Backup backs up. Then, include the original location of the content in the library in the backup list.
• Move the library folder to a location other than the user profile folder. Then, add a link to the moved folder from the library. Make sure that the library is included in the backup.

Vista Ultimate - 'User' Folder Location

No tried that.

Can copy the entire folder to D; but Windows still points to C as the location. Can change personal folders location to a folder on D;, but this still leaves hidden files etc on C;. Thus meaning there are 2 Users folders. Have managed to change the Public folder location to D;, with some registry tweaks, but this doesnt seem to work for the entire folder.

any more suggestions

 

How to set a Backup location (Windows XP)?

Hi Greg - It is Windows 7.

The problem is when I attach an external hard drive to use as a backup the device does not come up as a possible backup (if I go through the steps to choose a backup). Nor is it listed as a folder in the Libraries window to drag files into.

I have gone through via Windows help all steps, and yet the drive is still not appearing as a possible Backup location.

(It is listed in Devices).

If you can explain to me how to set this external hard drive up as a backup I'd be grateful!
