Moving encrypted pdf files to network share strips data off them

Hello. I have a problem using Acrobat X Pro and network shares in the domains. When I encrypt a PDF File with a password and I add it to a network share folder it loses its contents 0KB. Regular non-encrpyted pdf files get copied successfully.

    I am using Windows 10 1903.

The problem does not happen on Windows 7.

    I have attempted so far:

using xcopy with administrator privileges and /X flag to preserve file audit settings

using different encryptions for the password all of them for the different acrobat versions

It is not a permissions problem as my user has full control permissions.

    :)

  2. Searching in PDF?

Hey guys, I need to look up a large list of data from a PDF file, basically just to check if each entry of the list is in the pdf. Is there some way to do this without having to check one by one?

  3. Block File sharing in Wifi network, Windows 10

    Hi Lori,

As per the description, I understand that you want to block file sharing on your Wi-Fi network. I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

    • Right click on Start and select Control Panel.
    • Change the view type to Large Icons.
    • Click on Network and Sharing center.
    • In the left navigation pane, click on Advanced sharing center.
    • In the right pane, under Files and printer sharing, select the option:
Turn off file and printer sharing.
    • Restart the system and check for status.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted on the status for further assistance.

  4. Moving encrypted pdf files to network share strips data off them

    File Encryption

    Yes,

That is indeed the way to do it. Please observe the following:

    • Turning off the encryption setting does not remove encryption
    • Hard resetting your device destroys the only copy of the encryption key, and thus your access to these precious pictures.
I would suggest copying them reguraly, or you can automate this using Microsoft's MyPhone service (free).
