Windows 10: moving files from an old HP media file hard drive windows 7 to my HP all in one windows 10

I bought a Vorago enclosure to transfer my files I had on my HP media drive and the hard drive from my old HP Windows 7 computer to my newer all in one HP computer. Yesturday I hooked up both hard drives one after the other and just checked out my files. I did not transfer anything. I used the media drive first, changed to the original hd and then tried to change back to the media drive but my computer is no longer seeing that I have connected the media drive to the computer. When I change the hd back to the original hd, it is recognized. Is there anything I can do to get my computer to recognize this drive again so I can save the files stored there?

Windows 7 booting off wrong drive?!?!?

Please move if this is in the wrong place.

I have two hard drives, a 1.5TB drive, and a 160GB drive. Windows is installed on the 1.5TB drive, as are all my files and programs. The 160GB drive has a bunch of old files, and apparently the bootmgr and boot folder. Nothing else is on the 160GB drive, other than media files etc.

If I remove the 160GB drive from the machine, windows refuses to boot, plug it back in, it works fine. The setup with two hard drives I have now is temporary, as the 160GB drive will go into another machine.

My question is, can someone give me a step by step on how to make windows force to boot off the 1.5TB drive, ignoring the 160GB drive in the boot process completely?
I don't know how to do this in Windows 7, on XP I would just run the /fixmbr command and its related ones.

Any help would be appreciated.

Note: I would really really rather not have to wipe and reinstall, I know it can be done without one as I've had this issue with XP before.

 

Drivers for hp dv6226tx after installing windows 7

Hello,
I had windows vista home previous with my hp dv6226tx.

I've just formatted OS drive & installed windows 7.

Now i dont have any driver cd with my laptop, as they dont provide.

After installing windows 7, i think all basic drivers are preinstalled but video is poor quality and slower.

and my notebook has nvidia 7400 card but it's not showing now in device manager.

i searched on hp site and found this link.


But there isnt all in one like installation file..many files..and they are for windows vista and xp only..not mentioned about windows 7..is it same for vista and xp?

can u tell me after fresh install of windows 7, which drivers i need to install from those on HP site?

or can u link me to other site which has all needed latest drivers for my HP dv6226tx notebook for windows 7 ultimate.

BTW, windows 7 improved speed 10times than windows vista..it's gr8..

Stored files in Hard Drive

You can use Windows search. Just search for *.* on a desired drive. When list is done just arrange them by size LOL.

You can do it via command line as well and make an output text file showing files and their sizes (but without arrangement)
