Windows 10: Moving Files From C: Storage to D: Storage

So I have installed a lot of game on my computer, and I just installed Starwars: Squadrons days ago. Keep in mind that its file size is 31.? GB.Normally if I knew that this would almost maximize my file space of 237 GB, I would have averted this problem. So of course I try to clear up clutter files and activate my storage sense, and I only managed to clear up about 30 GB. Because of this tight space, some of my games for example: roblox are lagging behind with high ping issues, and making my local web browser slower then usual. But then I look at my D: file space of OVER 800 GIGABYTES UNUSED

Storage, Move C files to D file

I have it that all my new downloads go to my storage D but they always seem to wanna go to my Storage C, anybody know why. Is there a way to put the C things into the D things because it wont allow me?

 

Recovery (D) in storage?

In checking storage; I see:

This PC (C) 615 GB free

RECOVERY (D) 1.56 GB free

In Storage: What is the Recovery? I do not have any CD in my laptop. My laptop is running very slow. I wanted to clean out some "stuff".

Storage File C and D

You have a 128GB SSD and 1TB HDD on your PC, the best possible setup that will give you the most space on C for that type of system is as follows:

1.

Move all your User Library folders to D:

Open Windows File Explorer

In the right hand pane, right click your Documents folder and choose Properties

Select the Location tab

In the Location box, type D:\Documents then click Apply and Ok

When that move completes, do the same for Pictures, Videos and Music

Each time, provide a new folder location, for example, Pictures will go to D:\Pictures

Move the location of all future content downloaded from the Microsoft Store

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

Go to System - Storage - Change where new content is saved:

Change all options you find there to D

If you are a Steam Gamer

Stop all processes associated with Steam

Move the Steam folder to your D drive manually

Then open the Steam Control Panel and point that to the new location

Please Note: this should ideally be done before you begin installing any software

For 3rd party applications, some will allow you to choose an installation location, for those, create a new Program files folder on your D drive, then for each application, create a new sub-folder of that folder

Other 3rd party applications will not allow you to change the installation location, and there is no safe way to move those to your D drive . . .
