Windows 10: Moving files to thumbdrive

    Moving files to thumbdrive


    I think I have moved several pictures to a thumbdrive. Not sure how to check to see if they actually moved. Will those pictures still show on my computer or are they deleted once moved to thumbdrive?

    A Partitioned Thumbdrive (HELP!)

    I somehow found that my thumbdrive was partitioned... How do I fix this problem? I would like it to be all in one partition.

    See the top part of the list, that is a HUGE part of the TD i cannot use. I want to. The 50 mb one at teh bottom is what i can use, (named GEM).

    Windows Updates and Thumbdrive recognition

    I recently installed some updates on my Lenovo T440p and now my laptop isn't recognising the thumbdrive that I regularly use. I only get a message saying format the external drive. Any suggestions, I don't want to lose everything on the thumbdrive by reformatting
    it.

    Incorrect File Size

    Hi Danny,

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. I understand the inconvenience caused and will assist you.

    I suggest you to Format the Thumbdrive to NTFS by following the steps below:

    1. Right click on the Thumbdrive and select Format.

    2. Select NTFS from the list.

    3. Click on OK to Format the drive.

    Note: Formatting a drive or device will erase the data/content of the device. It is recommended to take a backup of the data and then Format the device.
