Windows 10: Moving from SATA to M.2 drive?

Hi all,I've bought a Dell Inspiron 15 3593 2020 manufacture, it's been reset to factory settings with the original hardware, and I'm considering installing a boot M.2 drive to run alongside or replace the original SATA HDD. If I install the M.2 before removing the HDD, is it possible to move the Windows installation to the M.2 drive rather than making a system image? I referenced this thread to see what the solutions are, and as far as I can tell, cloning seems to be the most straightforward way, but I'm not sure.Thanks,Kali W.

M.2 and SATA Express questions

Hi,

I just got a Gigabyte Z97-HD3P MB and I am confused by this statement - "SATA Express connector & M.2 slot can only be enabled one at a time".

2 questions -

• Can I use both a M.2 and SATA Express drive at the same time?
• Can I use 2 Samsung 850 EVO 250GB (1 M.2 and 1 SATA Express) in RAID 0?

Sata Drives are not connecting or showing up after installing m.2 fresh windows 10 install

What motherboard do you have?

It may be that using an m.2 SATA drive will turn off 2 SATA ports such as in the following link:

Try moving the HDDs to different ports.

 

SATA SSD and M.2 SSD

i was with a ssd sata and now i have ssd m.2, i formatted and put windows 11 in m.2, but i did not remove the ssd sata, i can only boot windows with the ssd sata connected, if i remove it windows does not boot to m.2



obs: windows was installed on m.2 but the ssd sata was still connected, but windows was 100% installed on m.2, is there any way I can set m.2 as primary? (when i removed the ssd sata it did not recognize windows)
